The Easy Fall Outfit Formula (That Always Looks Put Together)
It’s jean season again—and I couldn’t be happier. 💙
I’m okay with summer, but truthfully? The heat and I don’t mix. I’ve never quite figured out how to make shorts and a T-shirt look styled and bloat-friendly and I'm always more bloated when it's hot out. There’s just something about fall that feels right—cooler weather, cozy layers, tummy-friendly recipes and jeans that actually fit comfortably (even on bloated days).
When fall comes, it's my time to thrive. Grab a tee, a sweater, bloat-friendly jeans, and cute sneakers and you’re done. You will look pulled together while feeling comfortable and confident. Add hoops if you’d like, or swap in a nicer shoe to dress it up. You can’t go wrong.
That’s the magic of what I call the comfortable Power of 3.
What Is the Power of 3?
When your outfit feels “off,” it’s usually because something’s missing—that third piece.
The Power of 3 is a simple style rule that helps you look more put-together without adding stress or tight waistbands..
Here’s how it works:
1. Base: Start with the essentials—bloat-friendly jeans and a top.
2. Third piece: Add something “fun” like a cardigan, denim jacket, button down, scarf, hoops, baseball hat or other accessories. One of my favorite casual versions is to let your base tee peek out from under your sweater for that easy, layered look.
3. Shoes: The finishing touch that ties it all together.
That’s it. Bloat-friendly jeans + top + one extra layer = instant outfit.
Why It Works (Even on Bloating Days)
On the days when your stomach feels off, your energy’s low, and you just want to opt for sweatpants to go out to lunch, instead throw on bloat-friendly jeans, a tee, sweater cute shoes and you're done. If you want o dress it up add hoops, a cute bag and loafters or fun shoe. It’s the simplest way to look like you tried (even if you didn’t). And it works for every kind of day: bloated, busy, or “nothing looks good” mornings.
Honestly, it’s even helped me have fewer clothes, because when you love every piece, it’s easier to get dressed. Keep only the things that are flattering, comfortable, and make you feel good.
