I love a cozy day, but I’m officially over winter.
Where I live it’s been so snowy — fun at first, now just… a lot. I’ve been inside more than usual and noticed I stopped doing the little things that make me feel pulled together.
So lately I’ve been leaning into simple, low-effort ways to feel more like myself again — especially when getting dressed feels harder.
Here are the small things that are working for me right now.
A 10-minute “get ready” routine
Not a full routine — just enough to feel human.
Brush hair, simple skincare, earrings, rings. It makes a bigger difference than I expect every time.
Saving bloat-friendly outfit formulas
Capsule wardrobe is a word that gets thrown around a lot, but what really helps is having a few outfit formulas that work for your body.
Here are mine:
Jeans that don’t dig
Cute sweatpants
A sweater or sweatshirt
Simple jewelry
Cute snow boots or sneakers
Done.
Simple. Repeatable. No decision fatigue.
If you deal with bloating, IBS, postpartum body changes, or a midsection that fluctuates, having a formula removes the daily stress of “what fits today.”
A quick walk (even if it’s freezing)
Five minutes outside resets everything — energy, mood, and bloating.
Warm water and stretch in the morning
Helps me feel less sluggish and more grounded before the day starts.
Start small
If you’ve been feeling stuck in a winter slump, don’t try to change everything at once.
Start with one small reset — a short walk, putting on real clothes, a quick routine that makes you feel like yourself again.
For me, it usually starts with comfort and one outfit I know I can rely on.
When getting dressed feels easy, it gives me the momentum to do the next thing.
Small shifts, repeatable routines, and clothes that don’t add stress — that’s what’s helping me move out of the winter fog.
And it goes without saying, jeans should be the easiest part of your day — not a stress point.
